An exciting new arts project is being unveiled by one of Cardiff’s most high-profile businessmen, Giovanni Malacrino.
The restaurateur and experienced businessman was the pioneer who established the first café quarter in the UK in Cardiff 25 years ago.
Now, a quarter of a century later, his aim is to complete the transformation of Mill Lane café quarter and bring in more artists to paint and entertain.
Giovanni said: “For this reason, I have decided to open an art gallery with a difference, bringing together painting, music, and food. The gallery is also available for private parties, filming, and product launches.”
The new hub will be called GCHQ (Gios Creative Hub Quarter) and its VIP launch will take place on November 9th.
The arts hub will host monthly exhibitions of work by Welsh artists and will provide performance and recording space for Welsh musicians, as well as providing a meeting place for food aficionados and bloggers.
Following the success of this year’s Mill Lane Art Week, the brainchild of Mr Malacrino, he aims to create vibrant monthly showings which will put the area firmly on the map of European art destinations.
The first exhibition will feature:
